Let's go again!

Today seems like a great day to clean the dust of my blogs. Now, for those who enjoy my writing skills, there are a lot of hints related to design in the website www.mannes.com.br, all of them wrote by me. Here’s one of my favorites:

Reading hint for designers or design lovers in general - the book Everyday Design, by Donald A. Norman is a manual that presents coherently and dynamically several basic questions in design, for instance: why it just does not work?

Before the comments about your intelligence being questioned, do as Donald and blame the designer. In the book the specialist in usability questions the difficulty that we have in manipulate and understand some objects and explains that often that is not the user fault or their cognitive capability, but yet of an misconception design. After all, design goes very much beyond its esthetic appearance it must be an act of communication between user and object.

Along the chapters, Donald A. Norman give us examples of appropriate and inappropriate products, and demonstrates in what way the excess of technology can compromise the use of them. One of the most pertinent concepts found on the book for those in the design area is the term natural coercion that indicates what the person should do with the product without having to memorize an action. The hints, analysis and considerations in this book make his reading interesting for all of those who daily have to deal with the crazy inventions of this world.
